Arnav's car skidded to halt. He got out and threw up on the side of the road. After rinsing his mouth with water he kept in the glove compartment and taking a deep breath, gaining control over the panic that was creating an ulcer in his stomach he pressed the redial button. Payal answered the cell on the first bell.
'Arnav ji...Arnav ji what happened the phone disconnected?'
'Payal listen to me very carefully...forget whatever you are doing right now grab Aakash and get him to drive all of you back home. Khushi is all alone and we need to get to her as fast as possible. I'm on my way right now you guys do the same. Understand?!'
'Yes.'
'Good...give Aakash the phone...Aakash I need you all to go home straight away...no don't ask questions I don't have time to explain, Payal can do that while you drive everyone home. Just listen if you get there before me find Khushi and don't leave her side until I don't get there. And whatever you do don't...I REPEAT DON'T LET SHYAM ANYWHERE NEAR HER!!! You got that...good. See you at home.'
With that Arnav floored the accelerator...and prayed a silent prayer to the one being he had long given up on...Dear DM please...please...please keep my Khushi safe...let me get to her before that rascal does...please...please keep her safe...you have too...not for me but for her...she trusts you more than anything...don't let her down...keep her safe...please...

A panting, sweating, bleeding Khushi slammed her and Arnav's room door behind her. She leaned with her back against the door and surveyed the damage. A pool of blood was now forming next to the door. She looked at her side, where the dagger was still wedged in. She painstakingly pulled it out and let out a stifled grunt. The pain was excruciating, she wouldn't be able to hold on to her bearings for long, but adrenaline was pumping through her veins and she looked around the room for a place she may be able to hide for the door was a mere hurdle, not a barrier against the animal on the other side. Nowhere. Tiny dots started to form in front of her eyes, she didn't have long before she would pass out and she didn't have much time, she could hear her pursuer's laboured breathing on the other side of the door, taunting her. She needed to figure out a plan. Think Khushi...think...he no longer had a weapon she had drawn that away from him when she disarmed him in the mandir and landed with the knife in her side...good she could use that against him. All she had to do was wait...wait until he came inside and she would lunge forward onto him stabbing him with his very own knife. Yes that sounded like a good plan. She hobbled towards the middle of the room and waited for Shyam to enter...
Shyam threw open the door and let his animalistic grin spread on his face as he now had Khushi cornered. He couldn't believe his luck that he had gotten his golden chance this very day to finish both Khushi and Anjali, thereby destroying Arnav Singh Raizada forever. What had he said, these two were the two most important people in his life and he had dared to hurt them...well Arnav Singh Raizada he had only admired them prior to today, hurt them he would today and he, Arnav Singh Raizada wouldn't be able to do anything about it...for he left his two precious women alone and completely unprotected at the mercy of him, Shyam Manohar Jha.
For a smart guy he did a lot of stupid things...well desperation often did make the smartest of people make the dumbest of choices but why should he care he preyed on these very moments of desperation as they worked to his advantage.
Khushi began to act out her plan when the gun pointed at her made her drop her knife. This was the end. She couldn't do anything. It had been a good plan until Shyam had pointed the revolver (which he had sneakly concealed in the mandir) straight at her heart. She had nowhere to go. She had finally met her end.
Seeing Khushi closing her eyes awaiting her fate, defeated, made Shyam even more relentless. An evil smile spread across his face as he began to yield to his lust again seeing Khushi standing there at his mercy in the bedroom.
'You know Khushi.... ji I had come with only one intention, to kill you. But now that we are here I figure why not make good use of the room and the bed...after all I know that you and Saleh Sab haven't made much use of it...poor thing...we should give the bed what it demands don't you think?'
Khushi opened her eyes, horrified at his suggestion. And staggered backwards as she saw confirmation of his disgusting decision in the cruel glint of his eyes, that showed pure lust. Panic gripped her, moments ago she had accepted her death at the hands of this monster but now the thought of being violated in her own room by this pervert, made her insides scream. But what could she do, she had cornered herself in her own room, nowhere to go...nowhere to hide. And no chance of ending this for herself, as she in her horror of what Shyam had suggested had stumbled backwards away from the knife with which she could have ended her life. What was she going to do?
Shyam began to advance and terror began running through Khushi's veins. Shyam, stopped to put the gun on the side, 'We wouldn't want that going off in the middle of all the fun now would we Khushi...ji?'
As Shyam put the gun to the side behind him Khushi spotted a flower vase near the poolside window. That's it. Her only chance, she just needed to move a little more back and then she would be able to reach it. And once Shyam was close enough she would smash his head in.
And so the cat and mouse game began. Shyam edged towards her enjoying the fear he saw forming in Khushi's eyes. And Khushi slowly tiptoed towards the flower pot.
'Just a thought Khushi... how distraught do you think Saleh Sab would be when he finds you, his beloved...loved in a way he never was man enough to do and then forever out of his grasps? See I have been wondering. I would love to see his face when that happens, but then, alas you have to pick and choose your battles and unlike Saleh Sab I don't make mistakes and so will be nowhere near here when heb finds you and his beloved sister... haiye poor Saleh Sab he will lose everything. Well serves him right for messing with me. He deserves the pain that I have in store for him. He dared to cut me off and then kicked me out of the house...wrong move and now he will pay... '
Khushi was now standing inches away from the pot...it was now or never.
